The Newburgh Museum’s mission is to preserve, exhibit and educate all visitors about the history and culture of Newburgh and the surrounding area’s unique river town heritage.

Welcoming our first Executive Director, 2024 holds many new opportunities.  This year we are challenging ourselves to bring the community closer together with exciting events and various volunteer opportunities.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    Digitize Artifact Accessories

    Using PastPerfect, intern is to document and enter artifact data.  Organization and systemizing of artifacts in storage.

    Clean + Refresh Exhibits

    Daily dusting and wiping of displays.  Update and refresh permanent and yearly exhibits.  Labeling of items to be on display.

    Events

    Volunteer and assist in various events throughout internship.  Social media engagement, support, and advertising.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    Must be 18+ and pass criminal background check.

    Pursuing Degree in Related Field

    History and Archaeology departments or related fields are ideal for this internship.

    Care + Passion

    Proper handling techniques of various types of artifacts.  An overall passion for preserving local history.
