The Newburgh Museum’s mission is to preserve, exhibit and educate all visitors about the history and culture of Newburgh and the surrounding area’s unique river town heritage.

Welcoming our first Executive Director, 2024 held many successes and set forth new opportunities.  This year we are challenging ourselves to bring the community closer together with exciting events and various volunteer opportunities.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES – Museum Science

    Digitize Artifact + Collections

    Using the Past Perfect database, intern is to document and enter artifact data.  Management of collections including the digitizing of photograph collections, newspapers, and more.

    Clean + Refresh Exhibits

    Daily dusting and wiping of displays.  Update and refresh permanent and yearly exhibits.  Labeling of items to be on display.

    Events

    Volunteer and assist in various events throughout internship.  Social media engagement, support, and advertising. Inventory gift shop.

    • RESPONSIBILITIES – Business & Marketing

      Media

      Explore media outreach and awareness strategies, establish goals, implement marketing strategies on social media and overall website development.

      Inventory

      Record artifact inventory on display and in permanent collection in Past Perfect database.  Categorize facility inventory as well as gift shop items.

      Events

      Volunteer and assist in various events throughout internship.  Social media engagement, support, and advertising.

    • REQUIREMENTS

      Must be 18+ and pass criminal background check.
